A new look England team will need to put their disappointing Headingley performance behind them if they have any hope of securing the win they need to win the series. Following the controversial inclusion of "Australian" Darren Pattinson, and returning hero Andrew Flintoff in the second test, England appeared to lose the team spirit they had built in the back to back series against New Zealand.
Flintoff showed what England had been missing late on day two of this third test with a fierce period of bowling that brought England back into a game they looked destined to lose. He claimed the vital wickets of McKenzie, Kallis and A B DeVilliers in the closing stages of Thursday with a session that brought back memories of his ferocious attack on Ricky Ponting in 2005 that decisively swung the Ashes series in England's favour.
England will hope Freddie can provide similar heroics with the bat when they face the pacey attack of South Africa this weekend, including Andre Nel and his alter ego. In England's first innings Nel, or Gunther as he is known on the field, was eyeing up the England batsmen with typical aggressive form after every delivery
