Real Madrid play host to Espanyol later today in this Spanish Primeria Fixture that can be viewed Live on Sky Sports.

Real Madrid have won six competitive matches on the trot since losing to Deportivo La Coruna, Espanyol have picked up just one point in three games since starting the season with wins over Real Valladolid and Recreativo Huelva.

Espanyol lost to Sevilla on their last away match and were unlucky losers against Barcelona last week, so they will definitely fancy their chances against Real Madrid later today.

Real Madrid welcome back fit-again midfielder Wesley Sneijder and defensive duo Christoph Metzelder and Michel Salgado also return. However Miguel Torres, Javi Garcia and Jordi Codina all miss out, along with the suspended Marcelo and injured duo Fernando Gago and Guti.

Espanyol will be missing Callejon and Finnan for todays game, but Gregory Beranger, Nicolas Pareja, Francisco Rufete, Ivan De la Pena and Jesus Lacruz are available and could feature.

Summary

Real Madrid were impressive in their victory over Uefa Cup Champions Zenit midweek and with home advantage look strong favourites to win this match. However, Espanyol battled extremely well against Barcelona last time out and were unlucky losers and with the frailty of the defence for Madrid, Espanyol will definitely fancy their chances of scoring at least one goal later today. Whether or not that will be enough is hard to say but they will certainly make a game of it and we should be in for an exciting game.
