Sunderland play host to Newcastle today in this early afternoon kick off, live on Sky Sports.

The Black Cats have already beaten North East rivals Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light this season but they have failed to win any of their last three Premier League games.

A defeat to Aston Villa was followed by draws against Arsenal and Fulham, leaving Sunderland in the bottom half of the table.

Roy Keane may decide to bring in Kenwyne Jones after the striker returned to action for the reserves on Wednesday following four months out with a knee injury.

Fellow forward Martyn Waghorn also returned from a knee problem in the same game but is unlikely to be involved.

Nyron Nosworthy is back in the squad after recovering from a hamstring tear, while Dwight Yorke is over his gruelling international exploits with Trinidad & Tobago.

Liam Miller is also available again following a groin problem but Keane is not expected to make many changes from the side that played out a goalless draw with Fulham.

Summary

An interesting game, but one that will contain a few goals for either side as these two bitter rivals take the field.
