Wigan play host to Tottenham Hotspur later today in this Premiership Fixture, which can be seen Live on Sky Sports with a 13:30pm Kick Off Time.

Wigan have been in impressive form lately in the League and have only lost once in their last nine matches and they are currently three games unbeaten. This rich run of form has seen them scale the heights of the Premiership Table and they currently occupy 7th Position in the League Table. No doubt Steve Bruce and his staff have their sights firmly set on a European Place and to achieve that they will be looking at taking all 3pts today against Tottenham.

However, Spurs seem to be somewhat of a bogey side for Wigan, as they recently found out in the FA Cup when they were completley dominated by Spurs and went down 3-1. Wigan have failed to beat Tottenham in their last seven attempts and this is no doubt a major worrying factor for Wigan boss Steve Bruce.

On the bright side for Wigan, they do go into this game with a Full Squad of players to choose from. Emile Heskey and Amr Zaki and defender Mario Melchiot have all trained this week and are all in contention for a starting place. Chris Kirkland has also been given the all clear after recovering from a groin injury and also looks certain to line up between the sticks.

As for Tottenham, well this is a must win game for the Lilly Whites. They currently sit on the verge of the Relegation Zone and need to come away from this game with at least a point if they are to steer clear of becoming involved in the famous end of season dog fight at the bottom.

Harry Redknapp and the players will however be quietly confident going into this game and the added boost from recent return of Jermain Defoe will no doubt have a huge positive effect on the whole team. Defoe boasts an incredible record of scoring goals on his debut for clubs he has recently signed with and Spurs fans will be looking to him and Pavlyuchenko to test the Wigan defence to the full come kick off later this afternoon.
