Football Betting » South Korea v Saudi Arabia - International Group Stage
South Korea host Saudi Arabia at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Seoul on Wednesday in the Asian group zone of the World Cup Qualifiers live on Eurosport.
South Korea are already looking ahead to South Africa 2010 and the team that faces Saudi Arabia on Wednesday will likely be different to the one that won 2-0 in UAE on Saturday and booked their place in the World Cup Finals.
Korea may have booked their spot with two rounds still to play, but the battle for the last slot will be fiercely contested between Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Iran.
These three Asian heavyweights all have prior experience in football's showpiece event, but only one will be celebrating on June 17 when the fourth and final full round of continental qualifying ends. One will miss out completely and one will have to settle for third place in the group and a play off series in October and November.
Saudi Arabia look in good condition, however. Two come-from-behind wins over Iran and UAE have put automatic qualification in their own hands. Four points from their final two games will be enough.
With South Korea already qualified, the Saudis, who have a recent good record against their hosts - their 2-0 defeat in Riyadh in November not withstanding - will fancy their chances a little more.
South Korea have injuries and suspensions to deal with. Lee Young-pyo and Kim Jung-woo are suffering from the latter, while Kim Chi-woo has a hernia.
It is likely that some players will be rested and some tested. Young strikers Yoo Byung-soo and Yang Dong-hyun are expected to make their debuts in attack while Cho Won-hee of Wigan comes in for the suspended Kim. Kim Young-kwang should start in goal ahead of Lee Woon-jae and Kim Chang-su looks set to replace Oh Beom-seok.
Sauii Arabia meanwhile are at virtually full strength for the clash in Seoul. Malek Maaz is still injured but strike partner Yasser Al-Qahtani returns to the national team.
With South Korea already qualified they might not be quite at the races today so the Saudi's will fancy there chances of taking at least a point here.
