Spain and Iraq go head to head in their second game of Group A in the Confederations Cup on Wednesday afternoon live on BBC Interactive and on the BBC Sport website.

Spain cemented their position as the pre-tournament favourites with an exhilarating display of football against the hapless New Zealand. They were 4-0 up by the 24th minute, with Liverpool superstar Fernando Torres grabbing a hatrick within the first seventeen minutes of the encounter. The Spaniards were sublime in the opening half, but as is normally the case in these situations, the team who scored all the early goals invariably takes their foot of the gas.

The Spaniards extended their impressive unbeaten run to 33 matches, but manager Vicente del Bosque continues to insist the tournament favourites are not looking further ahead than their next game. Victory against Iraq would book their passage through to the semi-finals with a game to spare.

Iraq meanwhile, played hosts South Africa in their first game, and was far from a Confederations Cup classic ending in a boring 0-0 draw. It did though, ensure Iraq's first point at the finals of a FIFA tournament.

Manager Bora Milutinovic chose to play five at the back to stifle South Africa, and it is thought he will do the same against Spain.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque is unlikely to make too many changes to his side. His side will set a new world record for consecutive victories if they beat Iraq, breaking the all-time record of 14 games that they currently share with Australia (1996/97), Brazil (1997) and France (2003/04)

Reported Manchester United target David Silva has impressed in training and might replace Liverpool's Albert Riera.

Iraq coach Bora Milutinovic could start with the same 11 players who drew against South Africa.

Hawar Mohammed appears most likely to come into the side if Milutinovic opts to play an extra man in midfield.

Another convincing win looks a formality again today, Spain thrashed New Zealand and will be far too classy for Iraq to handle even with five at the back. It may take a bit longer this time to break through a 5 man defence but once the dam breaks expect the goals to flow once more especially with Fernando Torres in red-hot form.
