Football Betting » Fiorentina v Liverpool - Champions League Group Stage
Fiorentina play host to Liverpool later today in this 2nd Champions League Group E Fixture, which can be seen Live on Sky Sports with a 7:45pm (BST) Kick Off Time.
Fiorentina will be hoping to pick up their first points of the Group having lost 1-0 away to Lyon last time out, but face a tricky task going up against Liverpool who have been in excellent form of late, however Fiorentina remain unbeaten at home in their domestic league and have lost just once out of the 6 games played.
Liverpool enter this game off the back of a 6-1 hammering of Hull City in the Premier League which took place over the weekend and will no doubt be extremely confident of coming away from this game with yet another 3pts. Rafa Benitez has his side playing excellent football at the moment and Fiorentina will definitely be in for a tough game.
Fiorentina Team News
Alberto Gilardino will miss out in this one as he starts a two match suspension having seen Red against Lyon in the opening fixture, Stevan Jovetic will step in to replace him and lead the attack with Adrian Mutu.
Mario Santana is also out suffering from a thigh injury and Gianluca Comotto will undergo a late fitness test to see whether he can be involved in tonights game. Cristiano Zanetti is available for selection having served his suspension and looks certain to take up his place in midfield.
Liverpool Team News
Javier Mascherano picked up a slight knock in training this week and looks certain to miss this one. Gerrard will fall back to a more central midfield position leaving Kuyt to partner Torres up front. Aquilani and Agger are still recovering from respective injuries and will not be ready to take any part in this game. Benayoun has shaken off a knock picked up against Hull at the weekend and will certainly play some part in tonights game.
Summary
Fiorentina have an extremely poor disciplinary record this season having seen 8 Red Cards already and if they go a goal behind tonight to Liverpool i'm pretty sure we might see Red Card number 9. Despite remaining unbeaten at home this season Fiorentina will certainly be in for an extremely tough game against Liverpool tonight and with the way Torres is banging the goals in up front he looks another good bet to get on the scoresheet tonight.
With Fiorentina missing their current top scorer due to suspension its difficult to see them scoring more than 1 goal tonight if any at all and for me Liverpool will come away from this game with the points in a tight affair with victory by the odd goal or two.
