* Circuit Length: 4.574 km
* Race Distance: 306.458 km
* Number of Laps: 67
* Lap Record: 1:13.780 - K Raikkonen (2004)
After victory at Silverstone the pressure will be on Lewis Hamilton to repeat his success. This will be his first time at Hockenheim in a Formula One car although he does know the circuit having won here in Formula 3 EuroSeries race in 2005.
On the negative side, McLaren's record at this track isn't wonderful.
The standings at present are very tight with just two points separating the top four drivers, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa share top spot on 48 and Robert Kubica is on 46. We are about halfway through the season now so evey point will count.
If you are looking to bet on Ferrari to win then you might just get lucky here, they have a great winning record taking five of the past eight races.
It seems then that we are about to witness a battle between Hamilton and the Ferraris, that is of course unless some dramas unfold which as been the case in so many of this season's Grand Prix races so far.
2008 Result
Lewis Hamilton won the race ahead of Nelson Piquet (Renault) with Felipe Massa finishing third for Ferrari.
This gave the McLaren team their first win in the German Grand Prix for 10 years.
