The Italian Grand Prix is one of the longest running events on the Formula One calender, held every year at Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. The race has been held every single year since 1950. The British Grand Prix is the only other ever-present race on the F1 calendar.
After winning the 2006 Italian Grand Prix, seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher announced his retirement from Formula 1 racing at the end of that season.
The Monza circuit has the highest percentage of any lap on the Formula One calendar, where the cars are at 100% throttle. Because of this, only the cars with the most power are going to compete at the top.
The circuit is also the home of Ferarri, so look out for them over-performing, as has happened in the past.
