WGC Bridgestone Invitational Betting Preview

The Bridgestone Invitational is the final event of the World Golf Championships, and was previously sponsored by NEC. It changed sponsor to Bridgestone in 2006 and is held every year at Firestone Country Club, in Akron, Ohio.

The tournament field consists of just 75 players, and is an invitation event. Simply, invitations are sent to the best few dozen golfers in the World to compete in the event.

This tournament was known as the World Series of Golf until 1998, at which time the winner of the event was given a ten-year tour exemption - the same as for the Majors. This no longer happens.
