1,000 Guineas

The 1000 Guineas is held late April/early May at Newmarket racecourse and is one of five British classic races.

A group 1 flat race which is open to three year old fillies they race over a distance of 1 mile.

Held at Newmarket on the Rowley Mile course it is the fillies equivalent of the 2000 Guineas.

First held in 1814, and in 2007 was won by Finsceal Beo who broke the record for the fastest time in 1m 34.94s.

Betting Tips For The 1000 Guineas

A very open race but perhaps look for a horse that knows the course here and has ran well in one mile races before as the more experienced seem to do well.
The race is only open to three year olds so last years runners are not eligable to take part so look to the good two year olds from last season.
Look at horses from the top yards as they are the ones who consistantly get good results in this race, such as Aiden O'Brien and Sir Michael Stoute.
