The Ascot Chase is as the name suggests run at Ascot racecourse in February, it is a grade one National Hunt Chase and has a racing distance of two miles three and a half furlongs.

Open to horses aged five years and above who are faced with sixteen fences to jump throughout the race.

Eight year old horses have the best record here with only one horse older than ten winning in the past fourteen years. Martin Pipe produced four winners in seven years so it will be interesting to see if his son David who has taken the reins since his retirement will continue the Pipe Yards sucess in this race.
