The Totesport Becher Chase held at Aintree racecourse has become regarded as the form predictor for the John Smith's Grand National which is held the following Spring.The race is run at the same course as the famous Grand National and is the feature race of the day.
Three miles three furlongs is the distance with twenty two fences so we are looking for a horse with great stamina and jumping ability here.
Look for horses that have experience of these fences and are not carrying towards the top weight, at least under 11st. Dont rule out horses that ran well in the previous years Grand National and preferably under the age of nine years.
These of course are just guidelines but statisics show these are the best bets, there has been of course the odd upset but usually the winner has shown in the horses heading the betting.
