The Brigadier Gerard Stakes is held at Sandown racecourse in May, it is a Group 3 race that is open to horses of four years of age and above, with the four and five year olds having the best winning record.
Race distance is one mile two furlongs, the race began it's life as the Coronation Stakes but was changed to it's present name in 1973 to honour Brigadier Gerard, a racehorse that had a fantastic winning career including the Guineas and this race in 1972.
