The Charlie Hall Chase is a race for the best stayers, it is held at Wetherby racecourse and is considered to be a trial for those who are looking to the Cheltenham Gold Cup.The race attracts horses from all the leading yards who's aspiring steeplechasers are looking for top class status.
Once the race has been run you will normally find the odds for Cheltenham and the Grand National meeting hot up.
Three miles, one furlongs is the distance the horses have to cover and the race is sponsored by Bet365.
Many jumping superstars have won here including Wayward Lad and Barton Bank who have both won the race twice. The course is very demanding, ending with an uphill run and it requires a really top class stayer to take the title.
