Cheltenham Handicap Steeplechase

The Peter O'Sullevan National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup is one of the longest races of the Cheltenham Festival which is held in March.

It is part of day two of the festival and is known for being one of the most difficult to pick the winner of.

Only amateur jockeys are allowed to compete in this event and it can be quite a grueling task to get round the four miles race distance.

The race is open to horses of five years and upwards and has a prize fund of £75,000.

Many horses that have won here have been placed in previous years and the most successful trainer is Jonjo O'Neill who has won it five times in recent years.

Looking at the ages of the winners it is interesting to note that it is rare for any horse under the age of seven to prevail here.
