Next Running: 24th January 2009
The Cleeve Hurdle is a race for staying hurdlers that takes place at Cheltenham racecourse in January. It's seen as a trial for the World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, and many winners have gone on to run well two months later at the Festival.
The race is for five year olds and above, and is run over a distance of three miles with twelve hurdles to tackle.
It might sound like stating the obvious, but picking a horse with real staying ability is important here, because at the time of year that this race is run the ground is often very soft - making it an extreme test.
