The Contenders Hurdle is held at Sandown racecourse, the meeting is packed with all the top performing jump horses of the day and is a great betting event especially for those looking to bet at the Cheltenham Festival in March as a lot of horses will run here before the big event.

The race is run over two miles half furlong and is often contested by horses that have Champion Hurdle hopes. The last horse to do the double was Rooster Booster in 2003.
