The Criterion Stakes is held at Newmarket racecourse and currently holds Group 3 status, it was upgraded from Listed in 1986.
Open to horses of three years of age and above although in recent years it has been the older horses that have gone on to win here, only one three year old has won in the last ten years. Race distance is seven furlongs.
