The Dante Stakes is run at York racecourse in May, it is a grade 2 horse race on the flat for three year old horses and has a race distance of one mile two furlongs. The race is run on the second day of Yorks May Festival and is currently sponsored by Totesport.
Known as probably the most important trial for the Epsom Classic the Derby the last three winners here out of four renewals has gone on to win at Epsom. It is also the richest Derby trail with an offering of £150,000 in prize money. You can be sure which ever horse wins here will shorten in price dramatically for the Epsom Derby.
