The Darley July Cup is run at Newmarket racecourse and is part of Newmarket's three day meeting in July, it is the showpiece of the meeting, a Group1 flat race for three-year-olds and upwards, of both sexes and is run over a distance of 6 furlongs. The race is considered by some to be the best sprint race in the UK and is Newmarkets richest race.

Usually closley contested it is a difficult race to call, but often you will find horses that ran in the earlier Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot so it could pay to look at thoses that ran a good race there.
