The longest race of the Dubai World Cup meeting is the Dubai Sheema Classic. It has grown in prominence since it was first run in 1998 when it was known as the Dubai Turf Classic.
Offering a purse of US$5 million it attracts the best of the very best to fight it out on the turf course at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in Dubai.
The race is a flat race and covers a distance of 1 mile 4 furlongs, open to horses of four years of age and over.
