The Duke of York Stakes is run at York racecourse in May, it is a Group 2 flat horse race for three year old horses and above, although only one three year old has won the Duke of York Stakes in the past ten years, five year olds seem to do rather better having won five of the last ten renewals.

Racing distance is six furlongs it is part of Mays three day festival which attracts thousands of race lovers and punters.

Contested by the very best sprinters the race is usually a thriller and certainly a hot betting event.
