The Falmouth Stakes is a group 1 flat race for three-year-olds and above fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 1 mile on the July Course at Newmarket racecourse. The race was first run in 1911 and was upgraded to group 1 in 2004.
This race brings together all the best flat racing fillies and is one of the big highlights of the meeting, with regards to the betting it is a very well contested race and has been known to throw up winners as big as 50/1.
