The Irish 2000 Guineas is the Irish version of the 2,000 Guineas, and is held at the Curragh racecourse in May.
Racing distance is one mile, it is always a hot betting event being contested by Europe's top colts.
Although last years favourite went on to win here, in general favourites have a poor record with only three out of the last ten races winning although seven have been placed.
Horses trained in the UK have won seven times in the last ten years with the Irish having a rather poor record here.
