The John Durkan Memorial Chase is held at Punchestown racecourse which is host to many competitive and exciting races. The course has expanded throughout the years and can now cope with the massive crowds who go racing each year.
With a distance of two and a half miles the John Durkan race is usually a hot contest where you find the best of the best battle it out.
Popular with racegoers the race has become one of Punchtowns major races, lots of famous horses have won this race including Beef Or Salmon and Kicking King.
A grade 1 race for five year olds and above it really is a must to put this race on your calendar, it never fails to be a thriller.
