The July Stakes is run on the July Course at Newmarket racecourse in July, it is a Group 2 flat horse race with a racing distance of six furlongs. Open to two year old colts and geldings the race is part of the July meeting which is attended by all the top trainers and is a massive betting event.
The winner here usually figures high in the betting for the following years 2000 Guineas and it is one of the favourite races for the top stables to give their boys a real test.
