Kim Muir Challenge Cup

The Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase is on day three of the Cheltenham Festival in March, run over three miles half furlong it is ridden by amateur jockeys only.

Open to horses of five years of age and above it has a prize fund of £50,000.

A difficult race to predict the winner, the favourites having a poor winning record, infact most of the winners in recent years have gone off at double figure prices including a 40/1 winner in 2004.

Although the Irish trained horses are popular with punters, there has not been an Irish winner here for many years, no horse under the age of seven has won here with the eight year olds having most of the success.
