The David Nicholson Mares Only Hurdle is a new race for the Cheltenham Festival, it is run on the last day and is open to mares of five years of age and above.
Race distance is two miles four and a half furlongs and it seems set to become a very popular race with trainers and punters alike.
Named after the late David Nicholson who was known as the 'Duke' in racing circles was a great character and a supporter of British breeding.
