Paddy Power Gold Cup

The Paddy Power Gold Cup is 2 miles 4 1/2 furlongs long. It is a National Hunt race with grade 3 status.

Run at Cheltenham racecourse and part of the Open Meeting it gains in popularity every year especially with the betting public who love the National Hunt season.

As the name suggests the race is sponsored by the Irish bookmaker Paddy Power who have been the sponsors for some years now.

The Paddy Power Gold Cup is one of the first National Hunt races of the season, attended by some of the very best 2 and 1/2 milers and watched with great interest for clues on form for the following Cheltenham.

Look closely at any horses from the Pipe stable, horses from this yard have won here five times since the year 2000, the last being in 2005 when Timmy Murphy won riding Our Vic. The jockey Tony McCoy has also had great success here so expect plenty of support for him.

One thing is for sure you will see some of the very best from Britain, Ireland and France and one last thought,statistics show the front runners in the betting have a good record in this race so perhaps you wont have to look to hard to find the winner.
