The Peter Marsh Chase is run at Haydock Park racecourse in January, a Grade 2 National Hunt race it covers a distance of three miles and has eighteen fences.
A real crowd pleaser this race which is contested by the best chasers around, clues are also taken from this race for the big races later on in the season.
Being run in January the testing ground often has a baring on the winner here as only the cleanest jumpers will manage the course and go on to win.
The favourites here do not have a good record and you will often find a great shake up in the ante-post odds once the race has been won for the Aintree Grand National and the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
