Run at Haydock Park racecourse the Prestige Novices Hurdle has Grade 2 status, it has a race distance of three miles one furlong.

Contested by some of the very best stayers of the day it is a hot betting event that can affect the ante post odds for the up and coming World Hurdle just a few weeks later at the Cheltenham Festival, although so far the race winners here have failed to deliver at the Festival.
