Queen Elizabeth II Stakes

The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes is held at Ascot racecourse on September 27th.

Part of Ascots three day meeting it has gained in popularity over the years. The race itself has seen many famous winners and it was at the festival in 1999 when Frankie Dettori went on to win all seven races causing a major upset with the bookies.

It is a group 1 flat horse race for three-year-olds and above and is run over a distance of 1 mile.

Horses of the highest caliber and the top milers in Europe are the usual entries for this race which is the highlight of the whole festival.

From a betting perspective, look for horses whose trainers have concentrated their efforts on horses that have proved themselves over the 1 mile distance.

The festival is sponsored by Betdaq the fast growing betting exchange who have agreed to continue sponsorship for the next three years.

Ascot is a beautiful racecourse in Berkshire and holds nine of the yearly group 1 races. It is in fact owned by the Crown estate.
