The Racing Post Plate is part of the Cheltenham festival which is held in March, it is usually a wide open event but nevertheless attracts plenty of betting interest.
A handicap chase it has a race distance of two miles five furlongs and is open to horses of five years and above.
Favourites have a poor record at winning here and recent years have shown two 25/1 winners.
Trainer Nicky Henderson has had good results here winning back to back in 2005 and 2006 and horses from the Pipe stables dominated this race for three years from 1999 so look closely at entries from any of those yards.
Look closely at the weights and go for horses carrying less than eleven stone as records show previous winners did not carry above this.
