Without a doubt the Red Square Vodka Gold Cup is one of the more competitive staying chases of the whole season and is used by trainers as a trial for the Aintree Grand National.
On what is usually testing ground the horses have to cover a distance of three and a half miles, it cetainly calls for a horse with sound jumping ability and stamina in abundance.
It is run at Haydock Park racecourse and is a grade three chase for five year old horses and above.
