The Royal & Sun Alliance Chase is run at Cheltenham racecourse as part of the Cheltenham Festival which is in March, it is open to five year old novice horses and above.
Racing distance is three miles half a furlong with nineteen fences, the grueling trip will be the biggest challenge that the young novices will have ever faced.
Considered a steping stone to races like the Gold Cup only the best up and comming chasers will manage to get round here.
Seven year olds have a good record in this race and only three favourites have gone on to win since 1998 although the favourite has won here for the past two years.
