Ascot Gold Cup Betting

Yeats will bid to win yet another Ascot Gold Cup this year, trained by Aiden O' Brien he is now eight years old and many believe his best days are behind him. He did disappoint on his recent and only outing so far this season at Navan arriving home way down the field after clearly struggling to make any sort of impact.

However his army of fans will believe that a win here is still possible, he is trained by the maestro Aiden O'Brien, he has got to be one of the best stayers in a lifetime and usually delivers his best at this time of the year.

Patkai trained by Sir Michael Stoute could be the one to spoil it for Yeats, this four year old has a great winning record at Ascot having won here on the two occasions he has run including the Grade 3 Sagaro Stakes in April.

Geordieland has played bridesmaid to Yeats on numerous occasions including runner up slots here in 2007 and 2008, at eight years old he recently impressed to score in the Henry II Stakes beating Patkai in the process. Any doubts as to whether this horse deserves to get another shot here were put firmly in the drawer after that performance.

Others of interest that could sneak in a good run for a place have to include Washington Irving, fourth in the Yorkshire Cup last time out and Godolpins Sagara who came fifth here last year.
