This years Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket looks to be a great line up with Jim Bolgers New Approach heading the betting. Going for his fifth Group one of his career and the third this year everything looks set for a good race from him. However he has been known to struggle as we saw in the Juddmonte International Stakes where he found it hard to settle to come a dissapointing third after his awesome Derby win. Forgive him this and he will be the one they have to chase to the post.

Russian Cross trained by Andre Fabre has been supplemented for the race at a cost of £30,000, and looks to further the great record that the French have in this race. One who does look good value is Linngari who could be a nice each way bet, he arrives at Newmarket in fine form and although he is slightly older than his contenders the trip will suit and at the odds available one has to think he is worth a small wager.

Traffic Guard also looks interesting, trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam who rates his chances here, never having won a Group 1 he came close in the Irish Champion Stakes coming a respected second to New Approach, perhaps a bit of an underdog but if New Approach is not at his best then Traffic Guard could go one better here.
