Last Ran: 27th June 2009
Imbongi has made quite a name for himself in Dunbai and Hong Kong, he is regarded as one of South Africa's best milers with his trainer Mike de Kock recently confirming that seven furlongs to one mile suits him best.
He makes his European debut here, he has had a workout on the Rowley Mile with connections being very pleased to how he adapted and believe the ground will work to his advantage on the day.
Strong opposition awaits Imbongi however, Dream Eater came fifth in last seasons 2000 Guineas and runner up in this years Bet365 Mile, he struggled on soft ground in the Lockinge and was outclassed on his last run in the group 1 Queen Anne Stakes. This race looks more to his standard, he could well sneak in a good run.
Balthazaar's Gift came fourth in the Group Two Victor Chandler Challenge Stakes here back in October, while Group 1 winner Court Masterpiece who came runner up here in 2005 is getting back into the swing of things after a lengthy break. He gave a great display to arrive home in third place in his come back race at York in May.
