Sea The Stars has got to be the one to beat here, short odds but will still be an attractive bet for some. Even though Derby winners do not have a good record here, the horse is dropping back in trip and this is his first attempt at this distance there will be some lumping on this horse should he of course turn up.

Connections are confident that he will succeed where Motivator and Authorized failed in getting the double, he is somewhat different in thet he went on to win the 2000 Guineas, he has all the qualities needed to win here, speed, stamina and class, now we will l find out just how versitile he is.

Sea The Stars may be our new superstar but he will be up aginst some others who are well capable of putting in a strong challenge here and may represent better value.

Conduit winner of the St Leger and Breeders Cup Turf returns after having to settle for runner up slot on his seasonal return over this course and distance, a slight worry has to be that he seems to like a bit further but he is a classy sort that may just run a good one.

Jimmy Fortune gets the ride on Rip Van Winkle who has had three attempts at group one's but has yet to produce anything like a win, however he is highly regarded, is usually up there is the mix and this distance could give him what he is looking for.

Others of interest include, Cima De Triomphe, winner of the Italian Derby in 2008 and scored in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes last time out beating Conduit in the process, Archipenko who always gives you a run for your money and Twice Over who will attempt to go one better than his stablemate Phoenix Tower who took second place here last year for the same team of Henry Cecil and Khalid Abdullah.
