Just five runners left in for this years Maplewood Developments Hurdle which sees hurdling star Jered going off as favourite. Trained by Noel Meade this horse won the Irish Bank Hurdle in October making it four out of four wins since February. He was very impressive confirming what a high class sort he is. Obviously he is in terrific form and goes to make it five from five.

Sizing Europe arrives to make his season reappearence with connections hoping that he will not make a repeat of his last run in the Champion Hurdle last March where he just didnt deliver after going off as the bookies favourite. His trainer said after that they found a back problem that is now sorted and hopes are high for a good run.

Meade also has Harchibald who is being prepared for the Fighting Fifth, he won here in 2004 with Meade having a great overall record in this race Dessie Hughes has former dual champion Hardy Eustace who missed his intended seasonal reapperance due to heavy ground.
