Nine line up for the 2009 Prince Of Wales Stakes, heading the betting is the Sir Michael Stoute trained four year old Tartan Bearer. He had a great season last year winning the Group 2 Dante Stakes before going on to take runner up slot in the Derby and finished with third slot in the Irish Derby.

Never On Sunday looks an interesting contender, he made light work of his last outing to score in the Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp, he has previously looked like he was dipping in form but seemed back to his best that day. His trainer Jean-Claude Rouge believes the ground will suit and is confident of a good run.

Others that have to considered include Twice Over who is the charge of Henry Cecil, this four year old is a consistant and reliable sort but seems to just fall short of a win, having had to settle for runner up slot in the Champion Stakes before third placed in both the Earl Of Sefton Stakes and the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes.

John Gosden's Virtual arrived home first in the Lockinge Stakes last time out in a thrilling finish, a great sort that gives his all, he didnt perform well at Ascot last year but give him another chance and he could just sneak a good run in this time round.

Vision D'etat won the French Derby last season and arrives here on the back of another Group 1 win, the Prix Ganay at Longchamp.
