This year the Richard Davis Awards Novices Hurdle sees a great line up that includes the Paul Nicholls trained Hells Bay going off as the bookies favourite. The mount of Ruby Walsh he is sure to be popular and is in great form after a run and a win in the Persian War Novices Hurdle at the end of October. This was his fourth attempt at hurdles and he looked very impressive with more in the offering, all seems in place for a decent run.
A decent sort that could ruin it for Hells Bay is Diamond Harry, this five year old has had three starts. He won two renewals at Newbury last season and took pride of place in his hurdling debut just about a month ago at Uttoxeter.
Door Boy has also to be considered, he won a decent Novice Hurdle at Kelso in October, he showed great speed and handled the soft ground with ease. He looks a good prospect but we will know more after this run.
