Trainer Paul Nicholls win this race last year with I'msingingtheblues and this time round he has the bookies favourite in American Trilogy. This four year old made his hurdling debut at Aintree in October and won in fine style suggesting he is well above average. He did have some problems in running but overcome them he looks a fascinating sort who on this form seems set to make a great hurdler.

Leo's Lucky Star trained by David Pipe, had a good career on the flat under the charge of Mark Johnston. Origional intentions was to go for the Greatwood but connections decided otherwise. A keen sort who is in good form having won last time out at the begining of the month at Ascot, although the race wasnt a true test.

Others include, Over Sixty the charge of Alan King, winner at Southwell on her last run in October over hurdles and Hunters Ploy form the in form Nigel Twiston-Davies stable. Just the one run so far at the end of October in a maiden Hurdle, he stayed on well and deserved his win.
