Aiden O' Briens Mastercraftsman heads the betting for the 2009 St James Palace Stakes, this promising three year old was last seen delivering a classy performance to totally outshine all his rivals in the Irish 2000 Guineas.

He takes on some great milers here but he looks ready to take them on, a good run is expected. O' Brien also has Westphalia who was third in the French Derby last time out, Born To Be King, Malibu Bay and Set Sail.

Delegator also takes his chance, trained by Brien Meehan he won the Craven Stakes in April before taking runner up slot in the 2000 Guineas behind Sea The Stars. His last outing didn't go to plan finishing way down the field in the Irish equivalent.

Intense Focus finished 2008 on a high by winning the Group1 Dewhurst Stakes beating Lord Shanakill in the process, his one outing so far this season saw him take runner up slot in the 2000 Guineas Trial Stakes at Leopardstown, he is a genuine sort who will battle on to the end.

The quality line up continues with Evasive, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, he took sixth slot in the 2000 Guineas, he ran well came home in no disgrace he just didn't have what was needed on the day, Lord Shanakill who quite frankly didn't perform in the 2000 Guineas he was a great disappointment but a tad to early to write him off just yet.

Richard Hannon is double handed with Pure Poetry and Soul City while Godolphin has Orizaba.
