TheToteswinger Swinton Handicap Hurdle gets underway on Saturday at Haydock, this years renewal has a field of twenty four runners going to post in what looks like a rather weak renewal.
Leading fancy Secret Tune 12/1 made a promising start to his hurdling career but had dip in form towards the end of last year with several disappointing runs. He now seems to have left all that behind him and his recent outings have shown him to be a force to be reckoned with.
Last seen in the Scottish Champion Hurdle in April he was on for a hat trick but it was no disgrace to come runner up, he battled on gamely and deserved to take second slot.
Seven year old Wingman 11/1 Last scored in the totesport Trophy back in February 2008, he has met Secret Tune on his last two outings but has failed to deliver although his last run at Newbury saw him jumping well and looking a lot more positive to come in runner up to Secret Tune.
Cockney Trucker 13/2 was last seen taking third slot in the County Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham and could be a decent prospect, First Point has taken well to jumping, a former German flat winner he has had four runs this season and has scored in three.
Others of interest include Harper Valley 25/1, Top Mark 14/1 and Leamington Lad 20/1.
