Northern Ireland Trophy

Held in Belfast, The Northern Ireland Trophy is the first tournament of the snooker season.

It started out in the 2005/2006 season as an invitational event contested by twenty players but from the 2006/07 season it was given full ranking status and is now contested by the top thirty-two players along with 16 qualifiers.

The current holder is Ronnie O'Sullivan who defeated Dave Harold 9-3 in the 2008 Final.
