UK Championship Snooker

The UK Championship is widely regarded as the second most prestigious in snooker today. It was first held back in 1977.

Because the tournament matches are played over longer periods, much like the World Championship, you can expect less "shocks" here than at the best of nine frame tournaments.

This is very much reflected in the list of past winners below, with names like Higgins, Ebdon, O'Sullivan, Stevens, Williams and Hendry all winning the trophy in recent times.

The tournament is held at the Telford International Centre, in mid-December.
