Match Date: 29th June 2009

A reapeat of the French Open final awaits us here, it was Federer who came out the victor that day 1-6, 6-7(1), 4-6 with Soderling reaching his first ever Grand Slam final.
Soderling dispatched Fernando Gonzalez, Nikolay Davydenko, Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer on his passage to that final and played the tennis of his life shocking many with how easily he disposed of world class players.
He arrives at the fourth round after a fairly easy time, he beat Gilles Müller 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-1, 6-2, Marcel Granollers 4-6, 7-6(9-7), 6-4, 7-5 and Nicolas Almagro 7-6(7), 6-4, 6-4.
Federer is of course the man they all have to beat, he dropped a set in his last match against Philipp Kohlschreiber, Federer fans must have been holding their breath but true to form Federer's lapse of concentration didn't last long, he ended the match 6-3 6-2 6-7 6-1.
The players have a long history having met on ten occasions including last years Wimbledon, Federer has prevailed on every single occasion. However Soderling's game has vastly improved and he is playing terrific tennis.
This is Federers biggest test so far this tournament, but he is playing dominantly, his serving is so accurate, his superior groundstrokes and the cool calm and confident way he is playing show why he is likely to let no man get in the way of a sixth title here.
