Quietly,confidently and efficiently, that is how you could describe Juan Martin Del Potro's passage into the quarter finals of the US Open.

He totally powered through Juan Carlos Ferrero in the last round in straight sets and has to be considered a threat to the remaining players, he hasn't had a hard a time of things here so will be going into the final stages of the tournament feeling fresh and above all confident that he can get the job done.

Marin Cilic of course made all the headlines for bringing to an end Andy Murrays bid for that elusive Grand Slam title, Cilic completly dominated that match, and although considered the dark horse here if he can continue to play at the top of his game it is quite possible he can also end Del Potro's US Open dream.

The two players have only met on one other occasion, the Australian Open this year, Del Potro won that day 5-7 6-4 6-4 6-2, this has got all the makings of a very competative match but Del Potro just has the edge, he has had a terrific year with a win in Washington and made the final in Montreal, he has blasted past some of the top players in the process and there is no reason why this cannot continue.
